Courses
Leadership training for engineering managers, built for the AI era.
Three courses for people who lead engineering teams. Each one teaches the leadership skill first, then puts AI to work on it, with a clear line around the decisions that stay human. Enrolment opens course by course. Register your interest below.
01The flagship
Leadership with AI
Your real week as a people leader, rebuilt so that AI carries the preparation and the administrative load, and your time goes back to your team.
Who it is for
Engineering managers, senior engineering managers and managers of managers who carry both people and delivery.
Format
Self paced video · around 12 hours · practical downloads with every lesson
Included
Leadership: The Six Pillars, the craft course (self awareness, communication and influence, coaching, accountability, judgement, strategy), and Foundation Essentials, a two hour grounding in how these tools work and where they fail.
What you will learn
- Prepare one to ones, feedback and performance conversations in minutes, with the evidence organised and your own bias checked
- Run reviews, calibration and structured support fairly, with the rating and the decision kept entirely human
- Handle hiring communications with a hard line: AI never scores a candidate
- Decide under uncertainty: pressure test the plan, sweep for bias, plan the scenarios, communicate the call
- Bring your team onto AI safely: data classes, policy, and a human gate on anything that leaves the building
- Automate your recurring overhead hands on with Claude and Gemini, under a brief, approve, act discipline
What you leave with
- Installed, working skills for your own tools, not slides about them
- A skills library and a prompt pack covering the manager's recurring work
- A standing leadership companion configured to your role and team shape
- The human line, written down: what AI drafts and what only you decide
Why it is worth your time
Most AI training teaches the tool and most leadership training ignores it. This course rebuilds the manager's actual week with both, taught by someone who runs that week herself. You finish with less administration, better prepared conversations, and the judgement still yours.
02Advanced
Product Engineering
The merged engineering and product seat, made workable for one person: hold altitude, delegate depth.
Who it is for
Engineering managers and senior engineering managers moving into a role that owns the roadmap and product outcomes as well as delivery. It is not a course for becoming a product manager.
Format
Self paced video · around 12 to 15 hours · a deployable skill with every workflow lesson
What you will learn
- What owning product actually means, and how much of it your engineering leadership already covers
- The product skills to build: product sense, customer signal, outcomes over outputs, prioritisation and trade offs, discovery, metrics fluency
- Moving from delivery owner to outcome owner: the week, the rituals, and the decision brief
- Working across the organisation in product language: carrying the roadmap, managing up, saying no
- Keeping engineering running at altitude: predictable delivery, technical debt, team health, incidents
- A standing record of decisions and signals, and one repeatable weekly workflow you build yourself
What you leave with
- A personal gap diagnostic and learning plan for the merged role
- Working assistants for prioritisation, stakeholder translation, decision briefs and postmortems
- A standing decision and context record that briefs you on demand
- An automated weekly digest, built with a human gate before anything is sent
Why it is worth your time
The two roles are converging, and one person can hold both only with two load bearers: your tech leads carry the technical depth, and AI carries the operational overhead. Direction, judgement and accountability stay with you. This course shows how to set that up and keep it honest.
03The grounding
Foundation: The Full Picture
From how these models actually reason to delegating work to agents safely: the full picture, with no technical background assumed.
Who it is for
Leaders and professionals who want real depth on the tools, beyond the two hour Essentials included with Leadership with AI.
Format
Self paced video · nine modules · around 17 hours
What you will learn
- How the models reason, why they fail confidently, and how to work with both facts
- Prompting as a discipline: context, task, format, and the habit of never accepting the first output
- Working across tools, cross checking, and knowing which source an answer came from
- Files and data with verification: show the working, cite the rows, recompute another way
- Writing, research, images and video, each with the checks that keep the result yours
- Building small tools, and delegating to agents under a brief, approve, act discipline
What you leave with
- A prompt library and reference cards for daily use
- A verification playbook you can hand to your team
- The four classes of data: a working policy for what may enter an AI tool
- The judgement to evaluate AI claims, products and risks on their merits
Why it is worth your time
You cannot lead with a tool you do not understand. Generic AI literacy is free and everywhere. What is rare is a structured grounding in verification and safe delegation, which is exactly what a leader is accountable for when a team adopts these tools.
How the courses are built
Four commitments, in every lesson.
01
Taught by a practising engineering leader
Over eleven years leading and scaling engineering teams, and still leading them. The examples come from the job, not from a slide about it.
02
Skill before tool
Every lesson establishes what good looks like before AI touches it. The tool amplifies a capability you own.
03
The human line
AI drafts, you decide. Ratings, hiring and every decision about a person stay human, and confidential information stays out.
04
Deployable, and verified
Every workflow lesson ships a working prompt, skill or automation for Gemini, Claude or n8n, and every output is checked before it is trusted.
